Forms then use this Experience to increase their Health.

When I Resized the Compose Message Window, I Lost the Message I was Writing. Where'd it go?

Don't resize the window if you have already started typing.
I'm using Internet Explorer, and I can't get into the Mail or Newsgroup sections.
IE has a setting that is causing the problem.
Select "Internet Options" under the View menu, From there, click on the Advanced tab.
In the Browsing section, there is an option called "Browse In A New Process." Make sure this option is UNCHECKED.
If it is already unchecked, and you are still having the problem, submit a Bug Report about it.
Battles
How Do I Fight A Battle?
Evernight is a turn-based game.
What that means is that you tell the game what you want your forces to do (ie, move to a neighboring region), Then, at set times, the game will process all player moves at the same time -- this includes fighting battles.
When you log in after the turn has been processed, you will see the results of the previous turn's battles, and be able to give your orders for the next turn.
What is a Border Battle?
when opposing forces in neighbouring regions are sent toward each other, the two groups will meet on the border and fight.
Whoever wins that battle gets to continue on to their destination (where they may fight another battle if forces are present there).
Using Spells
How Long Do Spells Last?
All spells last for only one Turn, However, the effects of some spells (namely, those that change region types and Star Piercer [which destroys Temples & Fotresses]) are permanent.
What if Two Players Cast Spells at the Same Region on the Same Turn?
The spell that had the most Fury spent on it would come into effect.
If the two players spent the same amount of fury, then the two spells would cancel each other out (no matter which spells they were, even if they were the same spell), and neither one would come into effect.
If your spell does not come into effect, then you do not get your Fury back.
What Happens if a Suckerman and a Hand of Nergal Are Cast on Neighboring Regions in the Same Turn?
Spells are processed in the order of the amount of Fury spent on them, with the spells with less Fury spent on them being handled first.
So, if more Fury were spent on the Suckerman than the Hand of Nergal, then the Suckerman's effects would cancel out the effects of the Hand of Nergal.
If more Fury were spent on the Hand of Nergal, then the reverse would be true.
If the same amount were spent on both spells, then a random one would be handled last, and it's effects would override the other spell's effects.
What Happens to Lessers if you Do Not Move Them Off of Mountain or Water After Using a Grunch Guard?
Any lessers stranded on Mountain or Water regions without a Grunch Guard in effect will be killed.
Can I Cast a Suckerman on a Black Between?
NO. Suckerman can not be cast on a region that is a Black Between. It is also not possible to cast a Suckerman on a region that is a Mountain or Water region.
If I Cast a Black Between, Will My Lessers Be Upgraded Before Battles?
No. Your lessers do not get upgraded until the very end of the Turn.
How come I can't cast a Black Between spell?
Each Black Between spell is associated with a specific region type, and they must be cast on that region type (for example, the cheapest Black Between spell is the "Black Between - Plains", which must be cast on a Plains region).
If you already own a Black Between type, then you can not cast another of that type.
You also must own the region that you are casting the Black Between on.
Do Spells Affect Border Battles?
NO. The only spell that has any effect on Border Battles is the Vision Nerve spell, which cancels all Border Battles at a particular region.
How does Pulse Probe work?
Pulse Probe will prevent any player from casting a spell on that region while the spell is in effect.
That is, you must first outbid all other spells cast at that region the same cycle you cast your Pulse Probe.
If that happens, then the next round, your Pulse Probe will be in effect and prevent further spell casting at that region.
So, in order to use this spell correctly, you have to plan ahead a turn.
Temples/Fortresses
What are the rules for building Structures?
Each region can only have one Structure on it: either a Temple or a Fortress, not both.
Structures can not be built on Mountain, Water, or Swamp regions.
Each structure takes two turns to complete.
How do I build a Temple?
Before you can build a Temple, you must have selected a Religion.
Then, click on the "Build Structure" button on any region you own that can have a temple.
Can other players see my structures under construction?
No. Unless the other player is using the Omnisity spell, they can not see any Temples or Fortresses until they are completely built.
Can I Destroy My Own Temples and Fortresses?
Yes. If you just ordered the structure, you can cancel the order and get your Treasure back.
If the structure is under construction, you can cancel the construction, but you will not get your Treasure back.
If the structure is already built, then the only way to destroy it is with a Star Piercer spell.
Can I Summon More than one Form at a Temple in the Same Cycle?
No. Each temple can perform only one action per cycle.
So, a temple may summon a form or absorb a form in a given cycle, It can not do both.
The Turn
What is the "Turn?"
The Turn is the processing of all players' moves.
This is when forces move, battles occur, etc.
It is sometimes also referred to as the Tick.
When does the Turn happen?
The Turn occurs at a different time for each game. The description of each game in the Lobby will list when the Turn occurs for that particular game.
How do I End my Turn?
All of your orders are instantly saved to the database as you make them. You do not have to "End" your turn, per-se.
It ends when you stop making changes to your orders (or when the Tick runs).
If it makes you happier, you can consider logging out of the game (by returning to the Lobby) as ending your turn. But, you may go back in at any time (prior to the Tick running) and change your moves.
How long does the Turn take?
Depending upon the quantity of information to be processed, the Turn typically takes 2 minutes to complete.
Will the Turn be run more/less often?
While we do have the ability to vary the cycle of the turn, the current configuration is one Turn a day, every day of the week (except weekends).
As stated previously, each game's description in the lobby will list when and how often the Turns occur for that particular game.
What is the order of events during the Turn?
The turn consists of eight phases, executed in order:
1 - Production
2 - Allegiances
3 - Spells
4 - Movement and Battle
5 - Cede Regions
6 - Resources
7 - Form Absorption
8 - Cleanup
