Greetings Warriors & Well Met What is Evernight? Evernight is a game that pits you against hundreds of other tacticians in a quest to control the world. The world is made up of a vast number of Conquerable regions. As a new player, you begin with 1 region, a fort, 50 troops & 50 Treasure, by deploying your forces and attacking other regions & players, your empire can grow & grow. Each region brings in a set amount of Treasure per tick so the bigger you get, the more troops, structures etc you can put on the ground to support your war efforts. The objective is to control as many regions as possible by the games end & to crush or coerce anyone that stands in your way. At this point you should probably see the Getting Started section Opening Moves Initially, you will be fighting Natives, these range in number from 0 to 5 per region. You must "deploy" your forces into the surrounding regions & win these battles to become the regions new owner & hence, start earning more income As forest regions "Hide" troops, you should always assume theres 5 there for offensive purposes ;) Natives do NOT cast spells, so save your fury as much as possible, your going to need that when the real fighting starts. Lastly, don't forget to order more forces so you can send out waves of troops, Expansion should be a crucial part of your early plans for world domination. Communication. Communicate, talk to your neighbours, make deals, war pacts, alliances etc etc, in this game you will need friends as much as you need an enemy. Religion Theres no need to select a religion straight away, but if you don't have one selected when the game ends, you cannot win. It is often better to wait & wee what your enemy may chose, look at the terrain around you etc etc, we will discuss Religion in more detail shortly or click on the heading above to go straght to that subject. Lessons You will receive a web based lessens each tick with relevant information or you can skip ahead if you like as well, it's set up to go at your own pace, or more importantly, the games pace, so we hope you'll find them relevant to the stage of the game in play. Resources I would suggest the best place to start is right here but also, the in game help file & Tome of K'ar tuff are very useful, the help file will answer all your questions & the Tome shows any alterations to settings (custom games) like altered offence/defence stats or spell cost changes etc... Also, there are several Game dedicated Web sites full of lore & legend, in particular, Home of the Ancients MadNergals & the Newbs Lounge which is aimed at helping the new player get a quick grip on the reality of war.
