Today we will weigh the benefits of choosing a Religion Early early Vs waiting. When you pick your religion early, you gain the advantage of being able to summon early Forms, Assuming you've got the fury to do it. This can be a MASSIVE Military Advantage over those without form support. However, since many of your Foes will not have Temples built, (As you must choose a Religion prior to constructing one) you'll need to constantly circle back to refuel or keep contstructing new ones as you go. On the Upside, Cheap Forms can be fuelled for up to 15 ticks, which is plenty for early game operations. The Most Common Reason for choosing a Religion early is when you have multiple foes, when this happens, many players will choose a cheap form & pump out as many early Forms as they can in an effort to hinder & disrupt an enemies progress. By Waiting to choose a Religion, you gain several small advantages. 1. You can see what an enemy may choose & select an appropriate form to suit your needs & counter his selection. 2. You can arrange a Temple trade with a neighbour so as to have access to more than 1 form type. Note: you can also capture your enemys temple for the same result. 3. If you've managed to fight of the forces of evil without selecting a Religion & can see that a certain player is likely to cast out, you can select the same religion & gain an extra 2xp for religion bonus. The Con was mentioned above, your forces are severely outgunned by the brute strength of a Form. Theres no need to throw forces away in useless battles with Forms as they only grow stronger with each battle they win. (Form do NOT Generate Fury, they gain exp which converts to health.) Forms can only occupy 1 region at a time, keeping small groups of lessers nearby to fill in around them as they go reduces the impact they have on your resources, the real test will come when a structure or large group of lessers is threatened...... |
